Another Twisted Fairy Tale Review!

4 out of 5 again!

Here’s the write-up for my story.

“Cinder Sister” (5/5) – Leigh Dragoon tells a darkly entertaining look at Cinderella through her sister’s eyes. The stepsister is not as evil as we would believe but actually another pawn of her mother’s machinations. My only complaint is that it was too short. I wanted more!

;_; This just makes me so happy! I put a lot into that story, and I’m glad it’s getting a good reception.

Sketch a Day: 2

My cat Ash, a little 30 second doodle to test out Sketch Pad.

Final verdict: I prefer Corel Painter Sketch Pad to Autodesk Sketchbook Pro. I think Sketch Pad has a more user friendly interface, and its pencil tool mimics a real pencil better, while also being easier to make adjustments to, than the pencil tool in Sketchbook Pro. If you sat me down and told me I only had enough money for one of the programs, I’d choose Sketch Pad, hands down.

Fraggle Rock – Exciting News!

I can finally talk about this! The Jim Henson Company and Archaia Press have teamed up to create a Fraggle Rock comic book series. I was invited to pitch for it, and I’ve written the lead story for the second issue of the series.

I can’t really express how proud I am of this story, and how grateful I am to have had the chance to participate in a project like this. It means so much to have someone like Brian Henson say he thought my story was great. It was also a wonderful opportunity to work with my original Faerie Path editor, Tim Beedle, and to reconnect with characters I loved as a child. I watched something like 15 hours of Fraggle Rock while I was working on this — praise be to Netflix Watch Instantly! I’ve been bursting with excitement about this for awhile, but I didn’t want to announce anything until I was sure it was all right to do so.

Here’s a splash page from the first issue — the art is by the same artist who will be drawing my story!
